Atlanta, Georgia will host the next stop in the 2022 Smash World Tour as more than 600 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players compete at the gold event MomoCon 2022 this weekend.

The tournament will feature brackets for a number of games, including Brawlhalla, Rivals of Aether, Dragon Ball FigherZ, Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 7 and Mario Kart 8. Nevertheless, the Smash Ultimate bracket will be the main event for competitive players in attendance.

Here’s everything to know about MomoCon 2022, from the top players in attendance to the schedule and stream information.

Players to watch in Smash Ultimate Singles

As the Super Smash Con: Fall Fest champion, Paris “Light” Ramirez is no stranger to winning a major. However, as the first seed at MomoCon, Light will face a new challenge as he tries to fend off prospective upsets all throughout the bracket.

Light’s biggest threat is his projected winners quarters opponent, Michael “Riddles” Kim. The two have a lifetime 1-1 record, although Light did win their most recent set at Pound 2022 3-0. If he can get through Riddles, Light’s path to victory will likely include beating Carlos “Sonix” Pérez, who he has never played, and Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan, who he beat 3-2 in their only set at Smash Con.

On the flip side, Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey will look to show he still has what it takes to win a major. Tweek showed signs of life at Collision 2022 in March, beating William “Glutonny” Belaid, Light, Riddles, Leonardo “MkLeo” López Pérez and Edgar “Sparg0” Valdez en route to second place. However, he followed it up with a disappointing 33rd-place finish at Genesis 8 in April.

To win MomoCon 2022, Tweek will likely have to go through Brian “Cosmos” Kalu, who beat him 3-0 the last time they played at the Smash World Tour Championships in December. From there, his projected path involves beating Kola, who he has never played offline, and Light, who he has traded sets with since offline events returned last summer.

MomoCon will also notably mark DDee’s major debut. The 15-year-old Steve and Pokémon Trainer player has never traveled to an event outside of Georgia. However, he has beaten the likes of Kola, Griffin “Fatality” Miller, Sonix and Jacob “Jake” Silberman at locals. As a result, DDee could potentially make big upsets at MomoCon.
